Update

My due date is tomorrow! I was checked for the first time today to see if I was dilated or effaced (which hurt a lot). Anyway, the doctor told me I was 0% dilated and 0% effaced which concerned me because usually I guess people are at least at a 1 or a 2 by now! It was discouraging. Does this mean I am going to end up being 42 weeks pregnant (yikes) and have to be induced or have a C-section?! I am a little beside myself right now. Anyone have a similar experience? I know everyone is different but I am just so ready to have this baby and to feel like it could be still 2 weeks away! That's just insane!

I was checked on a Tuesday and was 0/0 but on Wednesday I was 3cm/90% and Noah was born on Thursday. It could change in a day

If you wait two weeks, and I have my baby early, they can have the same birthday!!!

I'm obviously no expert Callie:) But I just want to say, breathe and relax. Just stay positive! Don't forget that you are amazing and that you can handle anything!!

The last few days are the worst. I remember the waiting and how it just about killed me. I had the same experience though. 0/0 on Friday afternoon (so my mom didn't fly out even though she had planned on it) and I went into labor Saturday night. Don't be discouraged - that baby will be here before you know it!! :)

don't get discouraged cals. the last few days are definitely the hardest... this is the beginning of a little one completely in control of everything you do. i'm so happy you carried him full term. bundle up and go look at the christmas lights at naples. enjoy your free time as much as you can! you're beautiful baby boy will be here soon enough! he's just saying his goodbyes! love you!

You can do it! Unfortunately I had a similar experience and did go 42 weeks. But it worked out for me, because Lareine had three holes in her heart and the extra time in the womb gave her little body a chance to prepare.
I didn't want to go two weeks overdue with the second so I was induced (dr. just broke my water). But I was nervous if it was the right time, or whatever. But I prayed and felt peace. Then, my body was ready and from water breaking to birth was less than three hours.
You will know what to do. Trust your instincts and if you feel peace- go with it, if you don't, then make sure your doctor will listen to you.
fyi- I had a doc tell me I was dilated to a 0, and then check me again, and say, oh, you're really a 3, you just have weird anatomy (um, thanks, I guess).
Hang in there. The end is the hardest.

I've never had a baby or been pregnant. Heck never done anything in the neighborhood around those two events either...but I was born once. 4 days late....and then I came out in 40 minutes from 1st pain to smacking my bottom and saying I was a girl to my ma. Love you...be cool.
xoxoxo
PS every time I see you have blogged I wonder if it's the entry announcing a birth. But it will come. Promise.
