3D Harry Potter

I was a little scared to see Harry Potter in an IMAX theater in 3D. The last movie kinda scared me, but it actually was really cool. I'd recommend it, if not for the movie experience, for the fashion statement.
Grant was showing no fear as we waited for the action to begin.
Watch out Lord Voldemort, you don't know what you're up against.

Dinner Parties

Safety first. You can never be too careful.

Anne, are you ready to eat?

Housewarming! Jim, Grant, Mom, Anne, Bailey, and Levi.

"How to Save a Life"

No, it's not Grey's Anatomy, it's a Frey concert at
The Greek Theater.
It was so much fun and even though we didn't know the words to most of their songs, it was really good music and good company.
Here we are with the wild bunch. We brought a light dinner to eat together before going into the concert. We even had VIP passes which basically translates into free drinks and snacks inside. Hey, when your friends call you with free tickets to a concert at the Greek Theater, you don't ask questions, you just go.

Honeymoon: Take 2

Here we are on our last day with the Schorrs. We are at Waimea Bay. Grant and I jumped off some little rocks that you can see in the distance. The water is so warm and clear. It was the perfect ending to a perfect vacation.

We had to drag this kayak from the rental place. It was kind of an inconvenience but everyone else was doing it so we couldn't really complain. When we got there, the clouds rolled in and the winds picked up. As the sand blew in our eyes, we thought we might go back and get a refund, but then our adventurous spirit caught hold and we strapped ourselves in and started paddling toward the island. After an hour and a half of fighting against the current and the wind, we turned around but we had a great time and saw a huge sea turtle coasting along the waves. Grant and I were arguing whether he should paddle on the same side as me, or opposite side. Does anyone know the proper kayaking rules?

Now, do I look like I belong here or what?

A Bamboo Forest means a makeshift bamboo walking stick. Good job honey.

Our Hosts. Our Parasailing Partners. Our Friends.

Parasailing 700 ft. baby.

We went to the Dole Plantation and it was really interesting. I had never seen how a pineapple grows. Plus, one of my favorite things from the first time I went to Hawaii was the pineapple. Grant's pretty happy about this pineapple slushy with fresh pineapple juice and homemade pineapple ice cream. See that second spoon? Yeah, it's mine...

Go Cubbies

Grant's obssession happens to be The Chicago Cubs who were in town playing the Dodgers. We went with Jared who was obviously rooting for LA. The Cubs lost, but I still won because now I can say I've been to a major league baseball game and I've had a Dodger Dog. My stock is going up by the second. Oh, and I almost forgot,

Spiderman was there too.

Home Is Where The Heart Is

Even if it's an apartment in Anaheim... "won't you be my neighbor?"

This is where the magic happens...culinary magic that is. I am surprized that most of my experiments turn out pretty well and I've even fooled Grant into believing that I can cook! Aren't spellbooks and cookbooks pretty much the same thing?

Another view.

We have since added a few things like a scoop chair and some pictures but you get the idea. TV, couches, yada yada yada...

Settling in

"Don't make me come back there!" This is the view our kids are going to have when they are making a ruckus in the car. Poor things. For now, it's the view Anne has when she comes shopping with us for our new apartment. We had fun burning up those gift cards!

One of the lessons that Grant learned from my former boyfriend "Mr. Wonderful" was that a woman likes it when her man goes shopping with her and carries all her bags. Grant is a quick learner and now he's earned the title Mr. Wonderful. Inside the bags? Our bathroom stuff from Anthropologie. I could get used to this!

The Grove may be a hip place to shop and a good place to spot celebs but we love it because of the Farmers Market. Here's Amber (Anne's friend from her mission), Annabe, and Grant. We are all enjoying delicious corned beef from our grandpa's restaurant called Magee's. We need the stength for all of the shopping we are about to do.

Lua de Mel

A view of Chi-Town from our architectural tour on the Chicago River. We came to Chicago after Yosemite for a wonderful reception given by Grant's parents. We spent a few days with the family and then went out on the town for our last day. Besides the tour, we walked the Mag Mile, saw Oprah's former apartment building, strolled Navy Pier, did some window shopping, and ended the day with a delicious meal in Greek Town. Opa!
John Muir said the clearest way into the universe is through a forest wilderness. Being in Yosemite, there is no question as to why it inspired such a theory. Here we are at the Penon Blanco Lookout B & B. It was great because we were the only ones staying there that week. We were in the John Muir Suite and it felt like home (I guess that's the point). We woke up every morning to a 3 course breakfast usually involving fresh fruit, homemade bread or muffins, and a main course. We also had a great view as you can see. We enjoyed a massage on the deck overlooking the lake, good baby back ribs, and beautiful sights including the Hetch Hetchy Trail.

Here we are eating the brunch of a lifetime at the Rancho Bernardo Inn in San Diego. It is a resort on a golf course. Just a little word of advice if you ever decide to go there for a romantic (or golf) getaway, don't get your directions from Mapquest...

Here we are on the balcony of our room in San Diego.

Walking down the Isle during our ring ceremony. This was a really special moment. You see, my future with Grant is so bright, my dad, along with a few others, had to wear shades.
PS. I apologize.

Yes! Whata crowd. It was so great to have so many wonderful family members and friends travelling so far to be with us and support us on the happiest day of our lives. Thanks so much!

Grant's fam waiting for us to come out of the temple...

Need we say more?

The Holidays...

Just a few days before we were married we celebrated our First Easter. I was living in our apartment in Anaheim by myself getting it ready. Grant knew that Easter was my favorite holiday and that I love Easter candy. So, when Easter morning came at the new place, he asked me if the Easter Bunny had paid me a visit. Hidden behind our couch was a hot pink Easter basket filled with goodies. I'm just sad that the Easter Bunny forgot to get Grant anything...wait a second...

Our First Christmas was spent in Abingdon, Virginia where Grant finally had the chance to meet my dad in person ( he had already spoken to him on the phone to ask if he could marry me) and my step-mother Elvera and my brother Liam. It was a lot of fun. We saw "It's a Wonderful Life" at the historic Barter Theatre , we saw a BYU football game at a neighbor's house and had a great time enjoying the beautiful scenery and visiting with family and friends.

To bring in 2007, we partied in Huntington Beach with a bunch of our peops. Holla!

Gobble Gobble. Our first road trip took us to Utah for Thanksgiving where Grant charmed the Bench fam and I wowed his friends. Well done. We hit pretty bad traffic though. If you're going to be roadtripping between California and Utah, find out what time they are doing construction on the I 15 first. It'll save you about 6 hours.
